Since 2013 Dave Packer has been a trusted voice on ABC News Radio and is currently the network’s evening anchor.
A veteran broadcaster, Packer has been on the air for some of the most significant news events of the past decade. He reported on the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, broke the news of the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting, and anchored coverage of the George Floyd protests and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He also provided extensive reporting on the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before joining ABC News, Packer was a business anchor for The Wall Street Journal Radio Network and anchored mornings on New York’s FM News 101.9. Earlier in his career, he hosted news and entertainment programs on major East Coast stations, including in New York and Philadelphia, and managed programming for award-winning radio stations in New England. His leadership earned multiple industry honors, including Station of the Year from the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters.
A graduate of Seton Hall University, Packer has been inducted into the WSOU Hall of Fame.
He lives in New York City with his wife, daughter, and son.
